BLUE WATER RESORT

January 25, 2010

This is Rob Brough, Zions Bank, in for Fred Ball, speaking on business.

Some people think of the Bear Lake area as only a summer resort spot. That is a misconception! Businesses such as Blue Water Resort make this an exciting destination all 12 months of the year, says owner Norman Meacham.

Blue Water Resort is a campground, hotel and condominium facility on the southern shore of beautiful Bear Lake, and it is the only one of its kind that is right on the water. Blue Water Resort is membership-only campground, but the public can use it if space is available. Reservations for the RV space can be made by calling the resort or visiting bearlake.com and clicking on "Accommodations" or by emailing the resort at bluewaterresort@bearlake.com.

Norman says the resort's indoor spa is open year round. Snowmobile facilities with a nearby one-mile trail are quite popular. Beaver Mountain Ski Resort is 15 minutes away, and the lake and surrounding areas are exceptionally beautiful during the winter months. (Norman also said Bear Lake is much less crowded in the winter and early spring, and the serenity and peacefulness are addictive.)

The Lake Lodge Hotel and the Yellow Beach House offer first-class accommodations. Current room configurations make the hotel rooms ideal for family reunions or corporate gatherings. Connecting rooms can also be opened and help traffic flow more freely.

Norman and his partner, Ray Elliott, bought the property nearly 25 years ago and have constantly improved and upgraded the facilities. And future plans call for a major hotel/condo room expansion. They not only own the Blue Water Resort but also the golf course and the Motor Lodge Restaurant. They offer great packages that include accommodations, food and golf.

Bear Lake is a paradise in the summer months, but Norman and Ray hope Blue Water Resort can also become a popular winter destination.

For Zions Bank, I'm Rob Brough, in for Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
