February 19, 2010

This is Rob Brough, Zions Bank, speaking on business.

With three years of experience as a Web developer, Jeremy Palmer started considering how to best market the pages he designed and built so they reached their intended audiences. His curiosity on the subject led to an extensive study of online marketing where he discovered many techniques to maximize his efforts, but the one that stuck out to him was affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is an Internet-based marketing technique that uses one Web site to draw traffic, and business, to another site. Basically, this means that Jeremy could promote a service or product on his Web site or blog, and if someone purchased it through the link he provided, he would earn a commission.

Jeremy decided to start his own affiliate marketing business as a side job. The side project became successful enough that he quit developing Web sites to do affiliate marketing full-time. Realizing that others might be just as interested in affiliate marketing as he is, Jeremy started a program to teach people how to do it successfully. The result was Quityourdayjob.com.

Quityourdayjob.com is an affiliate marketing education Web site that teaches interested individuals how to become successful. Jeremy started his Riverton business by releasing an e-book that was so well received that it opened the door for him to create other interactive courses, including live webinars and video training. This spring, Jeremy plans to launch a new product, Two Weeks Notice, another affiliate marketing course.

To date, most of Jeremy's information has been geared for individuals, but his eventual goal is to teach small businesses too. Jeremy feels that the Internet is a dynamic environment and Web-based advertising has greatly influenced overall marketing practices. Jeremy plans to keep up with marketing changes so he can adjust his business accordingly. He also hopes to increase his company's focus on education and to not only teach his customers how to work from home but to also improve their overall job skills.

For Zions Bank, I'm Rob Brough. I'm speaking on business.
