April is getting closer all the time, and you know what that means. Yes, tax time is around the corner. Some people complete their taxes well in advance of the April 15 deadline, but others procrastinate until the deadline is right upon them. But what if you had someone to prepare your taxes for you? Joel Guerrero has always enjoyed preparing taxes. While attending college at the University of Utah, he got so good at preparing taxes that soon his family and friends all started bringing their taxes to him. At the time, he didn't own a computer so all his work was done by hand.

After his graduation in 1995, his wife suggested that he start his own business, and Translating Specialist was born. The company started small, in the Guerreros' Midvale home. Drawn by Joel's expertise and personalized service, customers kept coming and the business grew until Joel finally purchased a building in the old part of Midvale.

Today, Translating Specialist has offices in Provo, Kearns, Clearfield and Rock Springs, Wyo., in addition to its headquarters in Midvale. The company's main focus is tax preparation for individuals and businesses but it also provides accounting and translation work. Both Joel and his wife are real estate agents and can offer clients any assistance they might need with purchasing a home. The company provides Spanish translating services for a number of important legal and state documents.

Despite having multiple locations, Joel still does his best to remain personally involved with his clients. He spends a great deal of time traveling between his offices to meet with clients. Joel also says his wonderful and talented staff stays up to date with the latest tax information. Translating Specialist has become known for its personalized service, and Joel hopes this is a reputation the company can continue to build.
