THE AGENT-SEE

November 5, 2009

This is Fred Ball, Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Technology continues to march forward at a breakneck pace. It's almost overwhelming to consider how quickly it changes. I've always been especially fascinated by the advanced technology employed in high-tech surveillance equipment. It's amazing that something so small can be so sophisticated.

Matt Jensen has always been interested in surveillance. He discovered his curiosity in high school and entered the industry a short time later. In 2000, Matt started his own surveillance company in Las Vegas. The Agent-See (spelled as agent dash the word see) specialized in covert and counter surveillance that included checking for bugs and telephone taps. It was originally geared for residential customers but has since moved into the commercial sector.

A little over a year ago, the company had grown enough that Matt was looking to expand. He researched several areas and decided the Salt Lake City market presented the best possibility because it lacked a company that specialized in video security. While Salt Lake City was home to many companies that offered video surveillance equipment, most also covered other aspects of the security industry. As a means of staying competitive in the industry, Matt decided the Agent-See would become a video security company.

The Agent-See's focus on video security includes closed-circuit TV systems and surveillance cameras. The most popular items now are digital recorders and high-resolution recording equipment. One of the factors that has enabled the Agent-See to be so successful is the alliance Matt has formed with other specialized security-oriented businesses. If a client comes to Matt looking for a product he doesn't offer, he can refer that person to a company in the alliance that sells and specializes in that item. And other companies do the same for him.

Within the next five years, Matt plans to take the Agent-See into five additional major metro areas. He also plans to continue providing the newest cutting-edge products for his customers.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
