I was anxious to talk with Terry Peterson during my recent visit to St. George. I featured his company, Peterson Industries, about four years ago and recalled how much I enjoyed talking to this successful entrepreneur. And our recent interview didn't disappoint me. Terry has invented a new and exciting product.

Terry's company, Hybrid Light, manufacturers a futuristic state-of-the-art flashlight that has gained wide acceptance because of its durability and because it doesn't require batteries. The Hybrid Solar Lite has a solar panel made up of photovoltaic cells that capture both sunlight and room light. Following an eight-hour charge, the flashlight can provide up to 10 hours of super bright light. And just in case you forget to charge the flashlight, it also has a lithium battery pack that can provide 56 hours of light and lasts for seven years.

Terry uses the highest quality components available to construct his product - the best plastics, bulbs and solar panels. He even went to China and contracted with an excellent manufacturer to assemble the Hybrid Solar Lite. Terry emphasized that his product is environmentally friendly, durable and guaranteed for life. It is waterproof and floats, and I was impressed with the flashlight's brightness.

Customers love the Hybrid Solar Lite. It's available at many places including Lowe's, Costco and through the L.L. Bean catalog. More retailing agreements are under negotiation. Terry is finalizing a new infomercial that he hopes will generate interest in his innovative new product.

Terry is offering a program for youth groups and non-profits to sell the Hybrid Solar Lite as a fun means of raising money. He figures this could be a successful plan because everyone needs a good, reliable flashlight.
