KIDDIE KANDIDS

July 9, 2008

This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Nothing can replace a memory. However, portraits can sometimes help us keep the memory fresh, especially where children are concerned. They grow so quickly, and photographs can help us remember them at every age.

Both Scott Adams and Wayne Fox are passionate about children's photography and the importance of capturing memories on film. In 1974, they opened Kiddie Kandids portrait studio, which specializes in children's photography. Kiddie Kandids started as a kiosk in the University Mall in Orem. The concept caught on so well that that the Sandy-based company now has 180 locations in 35 states and about 2,500 employees.

Brandon Butterfield, vice-president of marketing, tells me Kiddie Kandids offers a portrait session with no sitting fee, membership fees or appointments required. The company specializes in creating a wide range of portrait gifts, from mugs to mouse pads and key chains. The studio can also use the images to create fine art, such as oil or watercolor portraits.

Traditional portrait sheets are the most popular items, but seasonal creations, such as babies' first Christmas ornaments and mini sports balls, are also top sellers. One of Kiddie Kandids' signature items is Perfect Treasures, where the studio creates a unique product with a montage of images on a single sheet of portrait paper.

Brandon says Kiddie Kandids is poised to maintain the steady growth that it has experienced thus far. And as technology changes, the company will continue to offer additional services for families.

Kiddie Kandids is distinguished by its photographers, who are passionate about their work. They are all certified and trained professionals who love children. Customers put their trust in Kiddie Kandids to capture a moment in their child's life, and Brandon says the company is committed to capturing it every time.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
