PETERSEN'S COUNTRY STORE

June 26, 2008

This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

I have a great love for the Cache Valley, and I frequently take trips to visit. Every time I enter the tranquil valley, I am amazed to see the tremendous growth taking place. On a recent trip, I noticed a new business, Petersen's Country Store, on the south end of the valley, and I decided to stop by.

Petersen's Country Store, located in Nibley, provides a variety of products from Western clothing to home dˇcor. I noticed a wide selection of lawn and gardening supplies, pet products, and animal feed for every imaginable creature, from al pacas to zebras. Ranchers can find tack and health supplies for their horses, and I'm told that basically, if an item has to do with horses or riding, Petersen's does their best to stock it.

Ross Lusk, manager of the Nibley store, says Petersen's carries one of the largest boot selections in the Cache Valley and also has a vast assortment of clothing for men, women and children. Lucchese boots have been a popular seller. Other lines such as Ariat, Resistol and Justin are also available. The store prides itself on offering a great variety of merchandise including fashion handbags, jewelry, belts and hats for women and work wear for men.

Petersen's Country Store has a friendly atmosphere and relaxed environment. Ross says the store's location on the south end of the Cache Valley is prime, and business is going well. Employees at Petersen's offer a high level of customer service and will even carry a customer's purchase, especially heavy bags of animal feed, out to his or her car. If a customer can't find the product he is looking for, Ross is happy to special order it.

Both Ross and the Petersen family, who owns the store, hope to use the Nibley location as a model for additional stores. They welcome feedback on any way to improve a customer's shopping experience.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
