MHTN ARCHITECTS

June 18, 2008

This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

In 1923, during the economic boom following World War I, Raymond Ashton and Raymond Evans decided to form an architecture firm. They called their new business Ashton and Evans Architects. Although the firm changed leadership during later years, it continues to provide Utah residents with a wide range of architectural services and is known today as MHTN Architects. This year MHTN is celebrating its 85th anniversary.

Sean Wright, MHTN Architects vice president of marketing, tells me the firm offers architecture, interior design and landscape architecture services. The company's specialties include government facilities, commercial, resort and mixed use, K-12 and higher education facilities.

MHTN Architects is known for its performance and dedication to serving clients and has been selected as a Best of State winner in the "Best Architects" for the last three years. Some of the higher profile projects the firm has completed include the Skaggs Catholic Center and the adjoining Juan Diego Catholic High School, Novell's corporate headquarters, and a building I am personally acquainted with — a major renovation of the Zions Bank tower in downtown Salt Lake City.

The company has also been involved with construction of the LDS Church's Family History Library, which uses principles of sustainable design and energy conservation. In the last few years, sustainable or "green" design has become an increasingly important issue, and MHTN is a leader in this area.

MHTN's business is based around the philosophy of making its clients' vision a reality. The firm employs specialized teams of designers and professionals who work with clients to develop inspiring environments.

MHTN Architects recognizes the impact its work has on people's lives. Sean says the company takes its contribution to the community seriously and works hard to provide buildings and spaces that are safe, secure and enjoyable to be in.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
