CNC DESIGNS

March 6, 2008

This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

I had to chuckle after my recent visit with Andy Eversole, owner of CNC Designs. He said what sums his business up most accurately is the phrase, "We make cool stuff."

The "cool stuff" CNC Designs makes runs the gamut from home décor items like wood plaques, letters and frames engraved with family names or favorite sayings, to contract work for local sign shops. Although a large percentage of the business comes from custom cutting for exhibit companies, CNC Designs also specializes in one-of-a-kind items for homes and offices.

CNC Designs has the latest software and equipment to provide clients with customized cut-outs in a variety of materials including wood, plastics, foam, aluminum and solid surface materials. The CNC router, which the business is named after, can take any computer-generated drawing or graphic and replicate it in the material of your choice. In other words, if you can draw it, CNC Designs can make it. Andy says the possibilities of what he can create are virtually endless.

The idea for CNC Designs came to Andy several years ago during a visit to Utah, when he met Brian Meyers of Utah Router Works. After spending a day watching Brian run his CNC router, Andy was hooked and the idea for CNC Designs was born. He founded the company a short time later.

Since its creation in July 2006, CNC Designs has steadily grown and now has three part-time employees in addition to Andy. His ultimate goal is to have a full staff to not only provide customized designs but also to engineer product templates of their own.

Andy loves the creativity his business involves. The company's future plans include moving to a larger facility and adding a new, state-of-the-art router that will allow CNC Designs to remain on the cutting edge of making cool stuff.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
