This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
A good night of sleep is a wonderful thing! While some people can fall asleep anywhere and anytime, most of us do not have that blessing. Erny Nak of Nak Mattress Factory helps his customers sleep more soundly and comfortably with the latest technology in memory foam mattresses.
A mattress has a great deal to do with sleep. Did you know that the innerspring mattress was invented in 1871? A lot has changed in 130 years and Erny thinks that mattresses should have changed, too.
He asked me, "If you were to design and build a mattress from scratch would you want to put hard, coiled steel inside?" Erny doesn't believe so. He says a mattress is no place for steel and that is why he sells the latest in mattress technology — Visco memory foam mattresses. Memory foam was originally developed by NASA to absorb the pressure of the G-force during space shuttle take-off. The foam has the unique ability to gently mold and conform to the body's shape, removing pressure points and allowing sleep to rise to a new level.
The Nak family has an interesting history. Eight members of the family arrived in Utah from Holland in 1948. One year later, Hilldebrand Nak started an upholstery business. Nak Upholstery is still operating and Hill, who is now 84 years old, still works five days a week. John Nak operated Nak Mattress in Bountiful until 2003 when he and son Erny moved to a new location at 83 W. 3300 South in Salt Lake City. John is 80 years old and like his brother, Hill, he works every day.
Erny tells me that the company also has an online presence. The Nak memory foam sleep system is a wonderful product that sells for much less than competing technology. The memory foam systems are covered by a 10-year warranty and customers are encouraged to take a no-obligation test before they buy a mattress.
We spend about one-third of our lives in bed; Shouldn't we use the newest and best mattress available?
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
