This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
In an increasingly competitive buyer's market, product safety and reliability are major concerns. Consumers want to know that what they buy is going to last. One fast-growing local company is designed to help address product issues.
Raumland Systems, headquartered in Midvale, was established in 1997 as a resource for manufacturing companies. It served as an independent lab for product testing, to help companies establish new manufacturing methods and processes. Later, the company began distributing automation components and systems to better serve customers.
Sales manager Mitch Seehusen tells me that today the company helps clients increase their product reliability and make products in a cost-effective manner. It performs custom testing services, including hydrostatic, impulse and abrasion tests. The tests show how long a product's life cycle is and any weaknesses that should be addressed.
In addition to its testing services, Raumland Systems also specializes in high pressure systems such as accumulators and receivers, high pressure valves, fabrication equipment and compressors. Mitch says they don't just accept things as they are but are constantly searching for new and innovative methods to improve both products and systems.
One of the company's recent projects involved helping ATK Aerospace test the simulator they use to train pilots. Raumland helped produce both the testing equipment and the process to test wing sections for the joint strike fighter.
Mitch says his favorite thing about working for Raumland Systems is seeing challenges clients are experiencing and finding ways to solve the problem. Every day is exciting because he's never sure what he will be doing next. He hopes to see the company continue to serve both clients and consumers by increasing the safety and reliability of products we use every day.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
